468MP Adhesive Transfer Tape

The 3M™ High-Performance Adhesive 200MP is an industry standard for graphic bonding and various industrial bonding applications. It provides excellent adhesion to metals and high-surface-energy (HSE) plastics. Its firmness allows initial repositioning on certain types of plastics in case of application errors. Additionally, it performs well under exposure to moisture and thermal cycling, resists temperatures up to 205°C (400°F), solvents, and offers superior performance under shear stresses.

Exceptional Adhesion to Metals and HSE Plastics

The 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 468MP features a 5.2 mil adhesive for splicing and laminating processes involving metals and HSE plastics. Its thicker adhesive layer enhances wet-out capability on surfaces with slight textures or irregularities. Delivered on a 4.2 mil, 58 lb polycoated kraft paper liner, it is excellent for rotary processing of graphic and die-cut parts. This adhesive transfer tape also resists solvents, moisture, and humidity, maintaining performance at high temperatures up to 400°F (204°C) for short periods.

Understanding Adhesive Transfer Tapes

Adhesive transfer tapes are rolls of pressure-sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a special release liner. For application, the tape is pressed adhesive-side down onto a surface, and the liner is peeled off. These tapes come in a variety of adhesive properties and liners to meet application requirements such as bonding nameplates to HSE and low-surface-energy (LSE) plastics, high-temperature appliance graphic overlays, foam gaskets, web splicing, signs, banners, point-of-purchase displays, and more.
