3M™ Neoprene High-Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 2141 is a reliable and versatile synthetic rubber adhesive best suited for general industrial applications. It is used to bond materials to a wide range of substrates, including most metals, baked enamel, wood, plastics, neoprene, and various rubbers. This high-strength adhesive features a light yellow appearance.
A Quick-Strength Bond
With its high strength and extended initial bonding range, our 3M™ Neoprene High-Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 2141 is an ideal choice for general rubber and gasket bonding. Its bond forms strongly within 15 minutes, yet allows enough time for the user to position parts correctly before the bond fully sets. It can be easily applied with a brush or sprayed for quick, repeatable, and precise applications.
This solvent-type synthetic rubber adhesive offers excellent resistance to water, oil, and grease in various tough and unique industrial environments. It has been proven to successfully bond neoprene, natural rubber, reclaimed SB-R, and butyl to most substrates. For optimal results, the adhesive and bonding surfaces should be at least 18°C (65°F).
Bonds Neoprene, Natural Rubber, Reclaimed SB-R, and Butyl
We designed 3M™ Neoprene High-Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 2141 to bond a wide variety of materials, including metals, wood, leather, many rigid and flexible foams, various plastics, paper, cardboard, fiberboard, fiberglass, glass, ceramic, baked enamel, reclaimed SRB, and butyl rubber. This adhesive enables small and significant workplace tasks to be completed effectively.
Adhesive Application
Whether applied with a spray gun, brush, or roller, using your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Begin by carefully applying the adhesive to your surface until an even coating is formed. Using an overlapping pattern, a single coat is sufficient for most surfaces. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. To apply more adhesive, simply wait until the existing coat is dry to the touch, then proceed with applying the additional layer.
