The Scotch-Brite™ 7447 General Purpose Hand Pad combines flexibility with effective cutting action and precise manual control to tackle tough cleaning tasks and deliver delicate finishes, use after use. Its very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasives cut quickly and gently, leaving a smooth surface. It is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials and for many different tasks.
The performance of the Scotch-Brite™ 7447 Hand Pad is equivalent to grade 1 steel wool. However, unlike steel wool, our Scotch-Brite™ pads do not break down during use, do not rust after use, and do not leave fine metal splinters. This open-structure nonwoven material resists loading and can be used dry, with water or solvents, and can be rinsed and reused. This 6 x 9-inch multipurpose pad can be used manually for precise control, with a hand sanding block for an even finish, or with a straight sander to cover large areas. This red-handled pad uses aluminum oxide abrasive. Due to its high cutting rate, hardness, resistance, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide is widely used in grinding, sanding, and finishing applications. It is suitable for a wide variety of substrates in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Our Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasive products are the only surface conditioning products with abrasives embedded in nonwoven nylon fibers or other synthetic fibers. The combination of abrasives in the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the product. The open-structure material is load-resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting fiber clogging.
