Loop Fastener

The 3M™ Loop Fastener SJ3571 is part of a two-part fastener solution designed to deliver exceptional durability for thousands of closures. With its high-performance acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive backing, this fastener enables easy and convenient attachment to a variety of substrates, including some high-surface-energy plastics like polycarbonate, acrylic, ABS, and polystyrene.

Offers Durability

The 3M™ Loop Fastener SJ3571 is our best-in-class acrylic-based hook fastener featuring a 4-mil (0.10 mm) polypropylene film liner with embossed 3M branding. It serves as an alternative fastening method for a wide range of closures, including zippers, screws, snaps, hooks, and more. This fastener is designed with a woven loop backing covered with thousands of soft, flexible loops, enabling thousands of openings and closings (cycles). It is typically paired with the 3M™ Hook Fastener SJ3572, but this loop fastener can also engage with other 3M™ hook fasteners. To ensure stability and consistency, both the hook and corresponding loop are pre-shrunk.

High-Performance Acrylic Adhesive

The backing of the 3M™ Loop Fastener SJ3571 is coated with a high-performance acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. This adhesive builds strength over time, allowing for some repositioning before achieving full bond strength. It adheres well to high- and medium-surface-energy substrates, such as clean, dry metals, and certain low-surface-energy substrates like polycarbonate, polystyrene, acrylic, and nylon. It offers excellent resistance to heat and humidity, UV stability, and exceptional shear strength.

Secure and Repeatable Closures

The 3M™ Hook and Loop Fasteners provide excellent design flexibility, fast product assembly, smooth and clean exterior surfaces, and outstanding product performance in various applications. These fasteners consist of hooks and loops that interlock to form a quick attachment. To release, simply pull the strips apart by hand.

Using a pressure-sensitive adhesive reduces or eliminates the need for sewing, solvent activation, dielectric or ultrasonic bonding, or bulk adhesive application. Pressure-sensitive adhesive products can be applied manually or automatically using a wide variety of equipment.
